Now there is a new show for moms by moms presented by TalkCenterAmerica.TV, where they will talk about the stuff nobody else wants to hear. Moms can call-in and join the streaming conversation online by signing up here.

The Milk premieres JANUARY 20TH 2016 at 10:30 PM Eastern Time

Click on TheMilk.tv to view/join the conversation

The Milk is about you, it's about me, it's about the women behind the word "mom". You just had a baby, and you still are a partner, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a boss or an employee, a sister, and now, also, a mother. The expectations placed on you don't vanish when you have a child, but your focus on yourself can and will unless you make the decision to be a badass and continue to "mother", or care for, yourself. Now it's time for your nourishment. Come kick it with your new BAMs (Bad-Ass- Mom) friends. We are here to talk about the things no one talks about. The icky, the wonderful, and the "oh-god-please-don't-make-me-vocalize-this".

Two New Online Arthur Games

Now children and their parents can have more fun with Arthur Read, Muffy Crosswire, and the Elwood City community! Arthur Delivers and Waldo Loves Muffy are two new online games for kids ages six to eight that introduce them to logic and systems thinking. Each game debuts on the Arthur homepage, with Arthur Delivers also available within the PBS KIDS' virtual world, Kart Kingdom. "These games are a fun way for children to hone their analytical thinking skills," says Arthur's Emmy Award®-winning, Digital Producer Gentry Menzel. "Both are designed to appeal to kids' imaginations, and connect with their curiosity and their love of a fun challenge."

Arthur Delivers!

Arthur Delivers is a fast-moving systems-thinking game: Arthur and his friends have a bicycle courier service, and they need kids' help delivering as many items as they can. The gameplay is simple: just click the gates to guide the bikes. As requests increase, and more couriers are added, a player must make lots of quick choices. As a bonus, if kids are logged into the PBS KIDS virtual world, they can earn special power-ups to help increase their score.

Waldo Loves Muffy

In Waldo Loves Muffy, a game based on a logical-thinking curriculum, kids help Waldo (Muffy's imaginary friend) find his way back to Muffy, collecting as many hearts as they can along the way. There are dangerous obstacles, such as creepy eyeball creatures and tiny passages, and dead ends abound. Players place pieces into the game to turn Waldo left, right, and diagonally to help him complete the journey. For added fun, kids can guide Waldo to the magic hat, which transforms him into Cowboy Waldo, Elvis Waldo, Sherlock Waldo, and more!

Each game offers kids a rewarding chance to develop solution-based thinking processes, all while having fun with Arthur and friends.

Produced by WGBH, the Emmy Award®-winning PBS KIDS series ARTHUR explores childhood challenges with heart and humor, while teaching problem-solving and pro-social skills. On the ARTHUR website, kids, parents, caregivers, and teachers can access a variety of fun and educational games, lesson plans, and activities. Families can also keep up with Arthur and his friends on the new ARTHUR Family Health Website - a resource that helps caregivers and children build and maintain healthy living habits.

First Look: CBS MOM (Premieres Sept 23rd) #CBSMOM

MOM is a comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre starring Anna Faris as a newly sober single mom raising two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls, and multiple Emmy Award winner Allison Janney as her critical, estranged mother. Christy is a waitress at a posh Napa Valley establishment who is four months clean and doing her best to be a good mom and overcome a history of questionable choices. Her sobriety is tested when her recovering alcoholic mom Bonnie reappears, chock-full of passive-aggressive insights into Christy’s many mistakes. Bonnie joins Christy’s already complicated circle of relationships: her handsome, married boss – and lover – Gabriel; the restaurant’s hot-tempered chef, Rudy; her pretty, 16-going-on-25-yearold daughter, Violet; her sweet but overly honest son, Roscoe; her irresponsible ex and Roscoe’s father, Baxter; and Violet’s clueless boyfriend, Luke. Christy tries to remain positive as she pursues her new path in life, but she faces an uphill battle, surrounded by a dubious support system – and a copious amount of dysfunction. Premieres Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, on the CBS Television Network.

TV's Top 10 Most Unconventional MOMS

Mom Confession: I'll admit that it drives me crazy when it comes to dinner time, especially the part when I cook and prepare meals for the family. It's very stressful. When my husband works late, I'm the only one who looks after my son and he's always trying to get my attention. I used to enjoy cooking, but everything has changed. It doesn't help when he's screaming and shouting around the house. Sometimes I try to find things for him to do or ask him to do something while I'm cooking. It gives me a bit of extra time to concentrate on preparing the meals. If you have any suggestions, please comment.

I really don't like it when little Brandon is near the stove because it's a bit dangerous if an accident happens. By the way, I ended up in the hospital one time from a freak accident because he was fooling around. Since then, I get scared of his fidgety actions.

Shushybye Baby: The Complete 3 DVD Collection (Review & Giveaway)

High on a cloud, the Shushies in Shushybye make dreams for children then deliver them in Dream Boxes as they fall asleep.

The new season of Shushybye, with brand new episodes, is finally here on BabyFirst! On Sunday, January 27th, BabyFirst (America’s television destination for parent-child interactive entertainment) will debut the new season of its popular music-centric series Shushybye Baby. BabyFirst is available on DirecTV, Dish Network and Comcast.

We received a copy of the DVD and Brandon was excited to see what it is all about. Brandon never seen the series, so it's something new to him. I like the Shushybye theme song and the Shushy characters are cute and funny. The video shows that they are doing activities in the classroom at school, learning music, field trips, and sing songs. Some of the songs were slow and it's great for bedtime at night, otherwise Brandon would just get bored during the day. Most of the songs got some catchy tunes. You can listen to the sample songs from their website here.

At bedtime, Brandon usually sleeps with the kid's songs on the music player. If only I could put all of the songs on a CD to play on our music player so he can listen while he lying down in his bed.

About Shushybye:

Shushybye is an original preschool entertainment and lifestyle brand, encompassing a national television series, national radio show, Video On Demand programming, series of bedtime storybooks, toys and plush dolls, music CDs, DVDs and sleepwear. Shushybye is all about dreams…dreams made especially for children by the Shushies who live in Shushybye villages such as Nap Valley, Snore Shore and Slumber Heights. But children have to go to bed on time in order to get their Shushybye dreams (i.e. when Mommy tells them!). Children make their Dream Wish before they go to sleep. The Shushies make all their dreams then place them in Dream Boxes. Conductor McCloud puts the Dream Boxes on the Shushybye Train and transports them to children as they fall asleep on time.

To celebrate the new season and thanks to the sponsor, I am hosting this DVD giveaway for my wonderful readers. It's the special three DVD collection of the entire all-new series collection of the multi award-winning and critically-acclaimed children’s television show. The colorful Shushy characters, enchanting stories and incredibly catchy, toe-tapin', finger-snappin' original songs of the new Shushybye Baby TV series are all here in this must-have DVD collection. You and your little ones can enjoy any time.

The DVDs include:
* 26 all-new complete episodes
* 56 Shushybye music videos
* 60 Original Shushybye songs in all
* Over 40 fun-filled story-vignettes starring the Shushies!

GIVEAWAY

One (1) lucky winner will win the Shushybye 3-disc DVD Collection ! Chosen winner will be selected via Random.org through Rafflecopter and is open to US & Canada, 18+ (ends February 28th, 2013 at 11:59pm EST). Winner will have 48 hours to respond to claim their prize. Good Luck!

Design Squad Nation Wins Daytime Emmy Award

PBS KIDS GO's Design Squad Nation Wins Daytime Emmy Award

Design Squad Nation won a coveted Emmy Award honoring its online destination for creative kids and tweens. Designed to inspire the next generation of engineers, the PBS project won the Emmy for New Approaches –Daytime Children’s at the 39th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony held this weekend in Los Angeles.

The New Approaches award recognizes Design Squad Nation’s “creative and innovative approaches to the practice, presentation and delivery” of children’s programming. The Design Squad Nation website brings creative ideas to life with the motto “dream it, build it, live it.” On the website’s ‘Projects’ gallery, kids can brainstorm new ideas, submit dream projects, and respond to those of other kids through sketches and real world prototypes — all while earning points. The games FIDGIT and STRING THING blend both creativity and puzzle solving online. A vast library of videos show teams working together to tackle an array of engineering projects — including a pedal-powered bike organ, a water-saving toilet, and a human-powered flying machine.

“PBS and Design Squad Nation have been on the forefront of creating innovative ways to engage kids online,” said senior producer Dave Peth. “It’s great that the academy is recognizing other platforms, besides television, as a way to distribute our media and to interact with our brands.”

Executive producer Marisa Wolsky added, “I am so proud of this team and this production. More than a TV show, and more than a website, Design Squad Nation is a growing community built around the belief that with creative problem solving and engineering, any kid can make a difference. This award is particularly gratifying, since we are currently hard at work to make this community bigger and stronger, inspiring a new generation of engineers to dream big and change the world.”

Other nominees in the New Approaches Daytime Children’s category were “ “Cyberchase,” “Fizzy’s Lunch Lab,” and “Noah Comprende.”

The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is a presentation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Design Squad Nation invites the next generation of great thinkers to get involved at pbskidsgo.org/designsquadnation. You can also follow Design Squad Nation on Facebook at www.facebook.com/DesignSquadNation and on Twitter at twitter.com/designsquad.

PBS KIDS GO! offers early elementary children the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television, online and community-based programs.

PBS KIDS' Martha Speaks and Arthur Celebrate National Poetry Month

To celebrate National Poetry Month, PBS KIDS' Martha Speaks and Arthur have partnered with the Poetry Foundation on a special week of reading, writing, and poetry episodes April 2-6, 2012 featuring former United States Poet Laureate Billy Collins and Inaugural Children's Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky. Kids also are invited to create and publish their own poetry online with an all-new game, Martha's Rhyme Time at pbskids.org/martha and Fern's Poetry Club at pbskids.org/arthur.

The Poetry Foundation and WGBH are teaming up to invite kids to celebrate National Poetry Month with Martha Speaks and Arthur. Tune in to PBS KIDS Monday, April 2, 2012 (check local listings) to join former United States Poet Laureate Billy Collins and inaugural Children's Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky in episodes highlighting poetry. Kids also are invited to create and publish their own poetry online with an all-new game, Martha's Rhyme Time at pbskids.org/martha and Fern's Poetry Club at pbskids.org/arthur.

"Martha Speaks and Arthur share a focus on literacy and actively encourage creativity and love of words," says Carol Greenwald, Senior Executive Producer at WGBH. "Through this partnership with the Poetry Foundation, we hope to encourage and inspire the next generation of poetry readers and writers."

"Children who are exposed to the joys of poetry at a young age are most likely to become lifelong readers of poetry as adults," adds Stephanie Hlywak, Media Director of the Poetry Foundation. "How better to create a new generation of poetry lovers than to enlist the help of Martha, Arthur, Billy Collins, and Jack Prelutsky?"

Airing Monday, April 2, 2012, PBS KIDS will premiere the brand-new Martha Speaks episode Billy Collins Speaks (check local listings). In this episode, Billy Collins writes great poems about dogs, and Martha thinks she knows why. Obviously, the former poet laureate must be a canine himself! When Martha meets Billy Collins, she's in for a few surprises...as is he. Tune in to learn words like poem, poet, prose, imposter, and metaphor. Then in the classic Arthur episode "I'm a Poet," Arthur and his friends are challenged to write a poem for a contest to be judged by inaugural Children's Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky. Though intimidated at first, everyone comes up with a poem that reflects his or her own unique approach.

Two new Martha Speaks episodes highlighting parts of speech and featuring a visit from the Bookbots air on PBS KIDS Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3-4, 2012 (check local listings). Additionally, past episodes of Arthur celebrating creative writing will air on PBS KIDS Tuesday-Friday, April 3-6, 2012 (check local listings).

New Games Highlight Poetry and Creative Writing Online at pbskids.org! Kids are invited to read, write, and share poetry online with Martha's Rhyme Time at pbskids.org/martha and Fern's Poetry Club at pbskids.org/arthur.

Martha's Rhyme Time
In Martha's Rhyme Time, kids can create rhyming couplets for Martha to perform. Building each from six different sets of words, there are—mathematically speaking—a bazillion combinations to create. Kids also can customize the performance stage and create a printed version to color and stick on the fridge. And, of course, with Martha being Martha, she'll introduce and explain many new vocabulary words along the way!

Fern's Poetry Club
Fern's Poetry Club is a long-running, popular poetry feature on the Arthur website that encourages children to write and share their poems online. Fern's Poetry Club contains information to help kids understand what poetry is, a description of different types of poems, and tips for kids on how to write their own poems, plus an archive of poems submitted to the site over the past 10 years. To celebrate National Poetry Month, new features will be added, including poetry-related video clips from Arthur. Kids will now see Fern, Arthur, and all their friends enjoying this wonderful form of expression!

New Flatscreen TV for the Playroom

We have a very old tube-type television that finally gave out and "fried". Little Brandon and I were watching cartoons on the TreehouseTV network and all of a sudden, the TV shut down. It happened before, but all I did was power it on again and it was fine. This time when I powered it on, we couldn't see anything.

The Hubby came home from work and helped move the old TV and the old TV stand out of the playroom. The TV stand was about to collapse anyway so we decided to throw that out too. We looked online and Hubby found a deal on a LG LCD 32" screen from the Dell website. It was a one-day sale and was $249. We ordered it and was delivered to our door after 2 days. That sure was pretty quick.

Coincidentally around the same time, my sister was getting rid of her computer shelf so I took it from her a few days before the LCD TV arrived. It worked great as a TV stand.

So here are some BEFORE and AFTER pictures.

Brandon loves his new TV and called it "his" new TV.

You can see in the first picture that it was so cluttered. I cleaned up and organized the playroom area and made more space. I hung the photos on the wall just above the TV.
