Frog Hollow Health Fair

I attended the Frog Hollow Neighborhood's Health Fair on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Every year they have this event. I brought Brandon along and went with my father-in-law. There were lots of info as well as free items (such as stickers, info, and activity sheets for kids). There was also a prize draw at the end of the event. I didn't stay for the announcement, but I have put in my entry in the ballot.

I got a call later on that day and was told that I have won. I was surprised and walked down to pick it up. When I brought home the gift bag, I opened it and found some new clothes that Brandon could use. There were also some kids toothpaste and activity books that he can use. It was great! Some were girl's clothing, but I decided to donate those ones. I told my husband when he got back from work.

Steroid-Free Cream (Pimecrolimus) For Eczema

Brandon had an appointment to see a new doctor about his skin problem. The rash under his chin has gotten worst and haven't really healed properly for a few weeks and I was very concerned about the infection. I was asked to bring in the previous cream that Brandon had been using, including the moisturizers. I also mentioned I didn't really like using the cortisol steroid creams all the time because of the side effect of "skin thinning".

The doctor introduced this lotion called Elidel (Pimcrolimus) cream 1%, which is steroid-free prescription cream for the treatment of eczema and safe for children under 2 years old. When I got home, I did some online research about it and to read more info. Everyone should practice this no matter what kind of medication you are prescribed. Also, the cost is quite extreme, but I am partially covered by my husband's health care plan to cover most of it. The doctor asked us to follow up in 3 weeks. I will update here as well on the progress.

Birthday Party (our Friend's Brandon)

It was our friend's little Brandon's 2nd birthday. OUR Brandon, only half a year younger, was invited. Not much going on, but just all the kids having some fun. Our little guy was enjoying the different kinds of food and trying out for the first time.

Happy Easter

The long weekend is over and we are back from Bellingham/Seattle area. Hope everyone had a nice Easter holiday. It was a nice get-away road trip. Photo of Brandon at the Seattle Premium Outlets. He got Nike sandals and he was happy with them.

We also met up with the Easter Bunny who gave a surprise egg to Brandon.
