Fun at the Park

So the weekend came and went. It was Sunday morning and we were up early. Even Brandon woke up early. It was a really nice sunny day so we decided to go to the park nearby our house and take some photos. We rarely have any outdoor pics, so this was a great opportunity. Brandon had so much fun on the swing. I just wanted to share some moments and the photos.

Caring for sick baby

Brandon has just passed the 6-month mark and he had 2 of his immunization shots on Saturday, April 4th. He cried each time as always for his shots and quickly calmed down once we comforted him.

There were so many activities happening that same day. Patric had bought tickets in advance for the Divine Performance Arts show, but we've decided to pass it along to his parents the very last minute. We did not want to be away from Brandon for so long and we want to take care of him since he didn't seem to look well.

Family dinner was also the same day for Patric's grandma's birthday. We had to go to that one. Brandon seemed ok at first, but he started getting fussy near the end. He was cranky as his usual nap time was approaching. He was sleepy, but could not soothe himself to sleep due to the noisy surroundings at the restaurant. We left shortly as soon as dinner was over. Brandon fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Brandon didn't look very well. Brandon threw up on our bed that night. He was also getting diarrhea too. He didn't get a fever though, which is a good thing. It may be due to new food allergies or because I gave him a different brand of formula that evening; or maybe it was the new toy he was biting on (which I have already wipe cleaned before giving to him); or could it be just a coincidence after he had the shots. I went to the doctor on monday again and I was told it was the sign of a flu.

What do you do when your baby is sick? Keep your baby well-hydrated if he/she has diarrhea or is vomiting. My doctor recommends giving him Pedialyte, which is specially designed to replace the water and electrolytes lost during diarrhea. Be prepared and keep a bottle onhand. Also, only give small amounts at a time and more frequently throughout the day. Too much liquid at a time can cause vomiting.

So now Baby Brandon started to cough many times in the middle of the night. I began to be more concerned and made an appointment to see the doctor again for next morning. I will update again on Brandon's progress.
