Superhero Costumes Review: Wolverine

I have a cute story I thought I'd share: Little Brandon never used to like drinking his soups during dinner. One day, I decided to say something like, "This is a special soup. It gives you super powers." He became curious. I tell him the truth that there's nutrients and healthy ingredients that makes him stronger and healthier. Now, whenever there's soup, he'll drink it all (if not most of it). That's when he started to become interested to know more about super heroes and the characters we watch on TV and movies.

Do you have kids who like to pretend that they're super heroes? Anytime Costumes have an excellent variety of costume for kids (girls and boys) as well as for adults. I was recently given the opportunity to review a kids Wolverine costume that little Brandon chose.

Description:

Wolverine makes a cunning appearance in the yellow, blue, and black jumpsuit of the Childs Wolverine Origins Costume. This bold design includes a lifelike chest and ab detail to make your little superhero look truly powerful this Halloween. Chase him around while he shows you just how strong and animal-like he is with the blue details along the shoulders and sides of the torso and legs. A cool black belt with gold and red detail straps across the waist the same way Wolverine's does.

The costume set includes a blue, yellow and black jumpsuit and mask. The quality is good and it fits little Brandon perfectly. I ordered a size up since these kids costumes tend to be tighter than the child's actual size. The costume is a little long for his little legs, but he will grow into it until next year. I just sew it up for now. The graphics on the costume itself isn't exactly as pictured, but Brandon is still happy with it.

Since opening the parcel, he wore it all day... even on our way to his grandparent's house for dinner.  His aunt and uncle were there too. Brandon definitely surprised them in this costume.

Disclosure: I received a choice of costume from costumediscounters.com in exchange for my honest review in this post. Any expressed opinions are my own and personal thoughts. No other compensation was given.

Disneynature's BEARS Trailer

In an epic story of breathtaking scale, Disneynature's new True Life Adventure "Bears" showcases a year in the life of a bear family as two impressionable young cubs are taught life's most important lessons. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bears must work hard to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from rival male bears and predators, including an ever-present wolf pack. "Bears" captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet's last great wildernesses—Alaska!

Directed by Alastair Fothergill ("Earth," "African Cats" and "Chimpanzee") and Keith Scholey ("African Cats"), "Bears" arrives in theatres April 18, 2014, to celebrate Earth Day.

Sea-Monkeys

Do you remember these? The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys. Saw this at Toys-R-Us and thought it would be fun. Brandon was pretty excited to hatch his own little Sea-Monkeys and start a little habitat. The little creatures are actually Brine Shrimp.

 Unpacking

First step, use bottled water and put in packet #1 to purify the water.

Day 2: We put in packet #2, the Sea-Monkey eggs, and wait for it to hatch in a few days.

Now we wait for them to hatch. We'll keep you updated in a few days.

Disney PLANES Review

Disney PLANES was out in theaters on Friday, August 9th. Have you seen it yet? Our family was able to see the pre-screening and the theater was packed with many people. Little Brandon was pretty excited because he's been waiting to see this movie for a while and it's finally released.

We were given 3D glasses to watch it in 3D. The 3D scenes didn't really do much for me. I was expecting it to be more dramatic. The storyline was predictable and the flying scenes were great tho! It's pretty much the same storyline as in Cars. The trailers made me think it is like another version of Cars, only it's all about Planes racing above in the sky. I just realized that Pixar was not part of this. It's a Disney film and not Disney-Pixar. Overall, I thought the movie was OK. I do like the animation and score. Little Brandon and other kids seem to like the movie quite a bit. His favorite character was Rochelle.

Summary:

Dusty is a cropdusting plane who dreams of competing in a famous aerial race. The problem? He is hopelessly afraid of heights. With the support of his mentor Skipper and a host of new friends, Dusty sets off to make his dreams come true.

Disclosure: I was given complimentary tickets to see the pre-screening for the mentioned film from Disney Studios Canada. Any expressed opinions are my own and personal thoughts. No other compensation was given.
