The Original CarSeat Lasso {Review}

What is the Car Seat Lasso?

It was created by Troy Pivonka, a parent who has 2 young children. Lifting the children in and out of the car seat can be daunting even more so as they get older and heavier. Many parents know that the buckle is always in the bottom of the seat. Once the child is in the car seat, the child will have to be lifted to retrieve the buckle. I've been through this and it can be troublesome.

From Troy's experience, you will put your child in the car seat over 3000 times in the next 5 years. He mentioned that his wife injured her arm doing this and with that, the CarSeat Lasso was invented.

Features:
  • works on all car seats
  • easy to use and install
  • saves you time and no hassle
  • buckle automatically retracts
  • durable components
  • made in the USA
I recently received the CarSeat Lasso to test out on Little Brandon's carseat. I thought this is a really great idea. I wish I had this few years ago, but now we have switched over to the big kid booster seat. I realized Little Brandon has trouble reaching for the buckle on the side most of the time and it often gets pushed down as he tries to buckle up.  One time I had to dig it out because it got pushed deep into the hole. Then I used the CarSeat Lasso to keep the buckle from sliding into the slot in the bottom of the seat. This was a brilliant idea and it saves us time and the hassle.

WHERE TO BUY: The CarSeat Lasso is available for purchase on Amazon.com,

Your child will never sit on the buckle again!

Hasbro Transformers Construct-Bots: Dinofire Grimlock and Optimus Prime {Review}

Hasbro's Transformers Construct-Bots sets lets you create your favorite Transformers characters and customize them. Little Brandon received this Dinofire Grimlock and Optimus Prime Construct-Bot set as a Christmas gift. We started building it together. It took a lot of time to build. What's cool with these sets is that you can even create your custom bots by adding/using parts from other Construct-Bots sets, which are sold separately.

Then we realized that were was a piece missing that attaches the dino's arm to the body. The other side of the same piece have broken off. I contacted Hasbro through their website and requested the missing parts. I sent a photo from the instruction guide of the missing piece with the other details. One of the customer service rep got back to me via email the next day and said that he will send me the replacement. This was my first time contacting the company to resolve an issue and I really like their quick and friendly service.

Our missing pieces finally came in the mail. I was very happy to get our figure completed until I realized the pieces were not the correct size. Oh bummer! The ball joint was too small.

I contacted Hasbro again with response to the first request and sent them that photo. They told me the original part was not available (as they searched for it in their warehouse) and offered me an exchange. And if the set is out of stock or no longer in production, they would send me a different Transformer set of the same value. My thought was to keep the set we have because it was Little Brandon's favorite character.

What I decided to do is to hotglue the parts in place. We played it for a bit, but the arms and legs keep coming off. The pieces were a little flimsy and easily fell apart. Little Brandon can play with the dino head where it shoots out fire missles. In my opinion, it doesn't seem to be meant for playing (not the rough kind) and is rather more for display. Little Brandon and I decided to keep it in our display case with the other "display only" figures and die-casts.

DESCRIPTION:

The mighty Dinobot Tyrannosaurus Rex Grimlock is one of the most ferocious warriors in the universe. Dinofire Grimlock lets you imagine you're blasting Decepticons with firepower worthy of the Dinobot king. Fire missiles from the light-up Firebreath Launcher and imagine you're unleashing a fireblast from the giant T-Rex's jaws, or use the rotating rapid-fire, side-mount cannons! The included Optimus Prime figure fits on the back of the Dinobot when the Grimlock figure is in T-Rex mode. Unite the Autobot and Dinobot leaders to create a force no Decepticon can stop, and ride into battle together.

WHERE TO BUY: You can find the set at your local toy retailers, Toys-R-Us and Amazon.com

Disney-Pixar's INSIDE OUT Trailer

From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all—inside the mind.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

Lola's World {App Review}

Some of you might have remembered Lola Panda from my previous app review. The developer has recently released Lola's World where the child can learn through tasks that help them get ready for Kindergarten.

Lola's World by BeiZ

Designed for children ages 3-5, Lola's World develops your child’s readiness for school. The application adjusts automatically and rotates tasks in a child-friendly and logical way.

It's a FREE app, with limited content for 3-year-olds and a basic progress tracker. You can also upgrade to the full version with 1-month, 3-month, or 12-month subscription. Subscription opens the full range of tasks, including 4- and 5-year-old packages, parental section with a full progress tracker, latest features by monthly updates, and more personalization with toys, clothes, food and all avatars.

 The app features:
  • Measurement: Size, amounts and number comparisons
  • Patterns & Sorting: Match groups and amounts or comparing objects
  • Counting & Numbers: Number recognition and counting objects and numbers
  • Basic Operations: Addition with numbers and objects or number sequencing
  • Geometry & Colors: Recognize shapes and colors or build puzzles

Improve your school readiness while adventuring from island to island. Lola will guide you on a treasure hunt to explore beautiful islands with beaches, jungles and mountains. Solve tasks to discover map pieces one-by-one and finally get ready to dig up a treasure chest with golden coins.

Back on Lola's air ship, you can relax and decorate your ship with new toys or find fancy clothes in the wardrobe. You can also make a delicious sandwich from the fridge, or draw a picture on the clipboard.

We've always loved that adorable Panda and her friends. I realized the app required a minimum iOS 6 and we had the old iPad (the first generation which maxed out to iOS 5.1.1). I was able to borrow a newer iPad and Brandon had a chance to try out this game.

Though Little Brandon is is bit old for this game (he's 6-years-old), he really enjoyed those "missions". The first few task were a little easy for him, but we were able to do the full version. He liked it very much and did learn some new things. His favorite part was going on "missions" and the dress up.

Disclosure: I was provided an iTunes code of this app in exchange of my review in this post. Any expressed opinions are my own and personal thoughts. No other compensation was given.
