Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights Album "Good Egg" Releases June 24

Joanie's back, with a stunning new album! Beloved singer/songwriter Joanie Leeds continues to build her award-winning body of work with the June 24 release of her sixth children's album, Good Egg.

This time around, Joanie Leeds and her band, The Nightlights, are joined by Jacob Stein (of the GRAMMY® nominated The Pop Ups) and children's musician extraordinaire Mista Cookie Jar.

Good Egg dances with delight through a roll call of musical genres. Joanie Leeds says, "I've never been one to stay stuck in any one particular musical style because I know kids love 'em all -- rock, pop, funk, soul, ska, go-go, gospel, country -- and frankly, so do I!"

An exceptionally versatile artists, Joanie Leeds is gifted with a soulful, "rock solid" voice that ranges from low and bluesy to high, light, and breezy. Says SiriusXM's Kids Place Live Program Director Mindy Thomas, "Joanie Leeds is that cool babysitter who would let you try on her lip gloss once your mom left the house. You idolized her, and your mom knew she could trust her. That's Joanie. Only she's also likely to completely ROCK THE ROOF OFF YOUR HOUSE!"

The second Joanie Leeds album to be produced by GRAMMY® winner Dean Jones, Good Egg kicks off with the driving beat of "Food Fight" and segues into some gentle, folksy harmony on "Kids Place." It's DC go-go all the way on "Drummer Dan," with Mista Cookie Jar infusing the number with some funky FLAVA! Jacob Stein of the GRAMMY® nominated The Pop Ups partners with Joanie Leeds to make a lot of sweet harmony with a language tug of war between the literal and the creatively idiomatic on "The World is Your Oyster." "My Dad," a ukulele-powered traditional jazz number in the mode of Django Reinhardt, is a terrific vehicle for the light and breezy side of Joanie's vocal style. Sublime meets Less Than Jake to dig into traditional ska on "Shadow," while The Clash meets The Ramones on a bit of classic punk to review classic illness prevention on "Germs." Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and leprechauns all have their moments in the sun on "Always on the Run."

Joanie Leeds captured first place for her original music in the USA Songwriting Competition and has won an Independent Music Award and a Parents Choice® Gold Award, as well as a NAPPA Gold Award. She has been honored as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the International Songwriting Competition. While often found serenading families in her hometown of NYC, Joanie also performs in dozens of cities across the country, and her music has been highly praised in People Magazine, Parents Magazine, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. Her tunes are played on many radio stations nationwide and have climbed the chart to #1 on SiriusXM's Kids Place Live and WXPN's Kids Corner. Joanie is also a PJ Library musician!
