TimeBuddy Review & Giveaway

I received the opportunity to try the Buddy Time (by GoLearn Toys) with my son, Brandon. It came in the mail few days ago. I opened the box immediately and Brandon got excited, though he didn't know exactly what it was. He was captivated by the colorful graphics. When we opened the box, the TimeBuddy button was already lit up. Maybe it was accidentally pressed during shipment or something happened. I went ahead to set it up. I followed instructions, but still had some trouble. The reset button didn't do anything so I took out the batteries and put them back in. And there it finally worked.

We got started with recording Brandon's name. When he pressed the button and hears his name, he giggled and kept pushing that TimeBuddy button. He was so amused. The box came with an activity kit/booklet with 4 markers and over 150 customizable & reusable stickers. We're still trying to figure out how to manage the stickers on the clock to customize to our schedule. So far, Brandon is learning what the picture of the sticker represents or means.

The TimeBuddy is brand new educational toy as it just came out on the market in August 2010. TimeBuddy is designed to teach pre-schoolers and school-aged children from ages 3 to 7 about daily routines and time management. Children do not need to be able to tell time in order to benefit from TimeBuddy. It has already won awards such as the Seal of Approval for 2010 by the National Parenting Association.

How does TimeBuddy work?

* TimeBuddy combines the functionality of a 24-hour clock, a digital clock, audio
recordings and reusable stickers to guide young children through their day.

* The digital clock allows parents to set up to three audio prompts at different times throughout the day. These prompts, in the form of a character voice and personalized with the child's name, alert children when it is time to start or finish specific activities.

* The reusable stickers are visual icons that represent daily activities. Children and/or parents place stickers at designated times on the 24-hour clock.

* The red hand on the clock will point to these icons at programmed times giving children cues on when to start and end an activity.

BUY IT
TimeBuddy can be purchased directly from their website or on Amazon.com.

That is a very cool thing to have! I would want to win because my 4 yo shedule got thrown WAY off when I had my twins several weeks ago and this would be a HUGE help getting us back on track!

My son is 4 now and is attending pre-k.

It's about time we get him set up with sort or routine, especially when it comes to going to bed!

Love it! My son thinks he should get up at 5:30 every morning, go to bed past nine, and play all the time. This would definitely help with establishing some more structure.

I would love to win this for my nephew. ANY toy that is educational is a good toy. This would be perfect for him.

I would like to win this because ever since my daughter was born last may my 34 months toddler was off from his routine. I want him to go back to it. And this is also good for him because it is educational.

I am a stay at home mommy and I think that this would help give my son the structure of a schedule that school gives. It is severely lacking here at home so I think it would be great to prepare him for when he goes to kindergarten.
