I decided to take Brandon to one of the vendor booths for some fun -- fishing out water balloons or "yo-yo balloons". It costs $2 for one play. Brandon was lucky to fish out 2 balloons at once. Awesome! So that was Brandon's lucky day.

Brandon's Lucky Day at the Powell Street Festival
For my local friends in Vancouver, BC, Canada... If you haven't heard about the Japanese Powell Street Festival, it is held each year during the British Columbia Day (or BC Day) holiday long weekend.
I decided to take Brandon to one of the vendor booths for some fun -- fishing out water balloons or "yo-yo balloons". It costs $2 for one play. Brandon was lucky to fish out 2 balloons at once. Awesome! So that was Brandon's lucky day.
Our next stop was walking around Canada Place. And because it was Brandon's lucky day, I gave him a penny to throw into the fountain to make a wish. Looks like he had a great time!

Brandon's visit to the Pediatric Dentist
After visiting our family dentist on July 26th, our dentist recommended us to visit the pediatric dentist. Because Brandon got scared from the chair tilting back, we weren't able to get his fillings done. Brandon has a bit of tooth decay on this front top teeth underneath.
I was given a list of dentists to choose from. I called the Pediatric Dental Group, Inc. and was given an appointment. So our first visit to the pediatric dentist (located at Oakridge Shopping Centre) and our appointment was with Dr. A.R. Chan. She was very nice. She saw the radiograph that my family dentist attached to the referral letter and also explained to me the situation. I had two options: either maintain it with good flossing and brushing or assign us to go to the hospital to get it fixed (which is costly).

iPad/iPhone App Review: Odd 1 Out
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It's been a hectic week (some good some bad), but I'll share about what happened later on.
I want to share with you all another cool and fun educational app from PunFlay.com. Little Brandon and I were given the opportunity to try out their new app called "Odd 1 Out".
Odd 1 Out
As you launch the app, you can choose to play either in the Practice or Challenge mode. Kids will find the Practice mode helpful before moving on to more challenging activities.
Choose to play with Fruits, Shapes, or Colors. Depending on this selection, the game displays a group of fruits, shapes, or colors. The child has to choose the correct object depending on the question.
Odd 1 Out is an excellent way to introduce your child to decision making skills. The activities are interesting and will keep your youngster busy for hours.
The app helps sharpen critical thinking and decision making skills by increasing the speed of decision-making, changing what the decision is about (colors/fruits/shapes), and changing the complexity of the decision.
I think this is an excellent app to develop hand-eye co-ordination and memory as well. Little Brandon has been learning a lot as he is growing. When he first tried the games in this app, he was a little confused at first, but he learned quickly. Brandon is almost 3 years old (2 years 10 months to be exact) and it's perfect for him. The animated objects are clear and recognizable. The fun part for him is when he taps the bug with the correct answer and it goes "splat". We love apps with animation.
Features:
Disclosure: I received a code to redeem for the above App at no charge in exchange for a review of my opinion. Thanks to PunFlay and Emantras Inc. The opinions expressed are my own personal and honest thoughts. No other compensation was given.
